Update: Former Newburyport, Amesbury men named in Salisbury murder

SALISBURY -- The Liberty Street beach house searched by state police and others law enforcement agencies last Friday in connection with the gruesome discovery of charred body parts in Bridgewater and Hyde Park days earlier, was rented in September by Newburyport High School graduate Reginald Cummings, an aspiring rapper with a lengthy criminal record.

While authorities would not confirm the name of the man whose body parts was found last week, family and friends believe it is the remains of 24-year-old Dennis Ray Jackson of Boston, who also lived in Amesbury within the past two years. Jackson, who also went by the name Nikko, had a lengthy criminal record -- most recently, in 2011, he was taken in by Amesbury police on an arrest warrant. Two years earlier he was arrested by Amesbury police or assault and battery on a police officer.

The body parts were found inside a barrel located on property owned by Bridgewater State Prison last Wednesday night. The following morning, more burnt body parts were found outside a Hyde Park building.

A fundraising web site created by his sister, Denise Jackson, described Jackson as 24 years old and the father of three children, among them a three-month-old infant. Before it was edited yesterday the site described how Jackson's body was found in multiple locations. Several of Jackson's friend posted photos of him on their Facebook pages and included the link to the online fundraiser.

When contacted by The Daily News, Denise Jackson declined to comment publicly.

Police have not charged Cummings, however sources have told The Daily News that Cummings is a "person of interest" in the murder. Police executed a search warrant last week at his Liberty Street apartment, however they have not been able to locate him.

On Oct. 30, Cummings posted a note to his Facebook page stating he planned to go to Europe but has having difficulties obtaining permission due to his criminal record.
