A model of the USS Thresher was on hand at a remembrance of the submarine's sinking, 50 years ago, at the site of a memorial for Salisbury resident Robert Steinel, who was on board. His widow and children were on hand for the ceremony, as well as Rowley resident Jane Sorensen, whose husband, Donald Day, also went down with the ship.
