Newburyport bank robbed this morning

NEWBURYPORT  -- The Storey Avenue branch of the Newburyport 5 Cents Savings Bank was robbed this morning at around 10 a.m.

Police are looking for a man described as being in his mid 40s, with greyish hair and a goutee. State police and k-9 units were brought in to search the area, which included the wooded area behind the Shaws Supermarket, a couple hundred yards from the bank.

It's unclear if the man showed a weapon, or how much money he took.

The bank office is located on Storey Avenue, in a small strip of businesses next to the entrance to the Market Basket plaza.
