In Salisbury, The winners in the selectman election were Freeman Condon and Ed Hunt, who won the two seats available on the 5-member Board of Selectmen. The two candidates, both of which have served on the board before, blew away the other competition by wide margins.

But perhaps the biggest cheer of the night came when bystanders learned that voters approved the override granting permission for the town to  bond for a new town library. Yes votes outweighed no votes by 1,134 to 733. The measure now goes to Town Meeting for its final approval on May 30.

Winning the other contested race, for Town Moderator, was former selectman Jerry Klima.

In West Newbury, Joe Anderson won the selectman seat, beating Kristi Devne 704-202.
