NEWBURYPORT — The Institution for Savings recently hired Mark E. Farrell as vice president of commercial lending, President and CEO Michael J. Jones announced in a press release.
Farrell joined the bank’s commercial lending staff earlier this month after holding a similar position at First Ipswich Bank for more than nine years, according to the release. With more than 30 years of community banking experience, his focus is to serve the commercial financing needs of businesses and individuals on the North Shore.
“Mark is very familiar with the financing needs of commercial customers on the North Shore, having worked here for nearly his entire career,” Jones said. “Last year was an extremely successful one for our commercial lending department, and Mark’s strong community roots, lending knowledge and customer service acumen will be a terrific addition to our team.”
Farrell holds a degree in economics as well as an MBA and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He is on the board of the Beverly Chamber of Commerce, active in a number of other North Shore business organizations, and is a past board member of the Beverly Affordable Housing Coalition.
