Seaglass earns "green" recognition

Seaglass oceanfront restaurant at The Pavilion on Salisbury Beach has earned recognition for its ecologically sustainable efforts from the Green Restaurant Association. Seaglass is the only restaurant in Greater Newburyport, and one of approximately 20 full-service restaurants in Massachusetts, to receive this honor for "green" practices in its facility and food preparation.

Established in Boston in 1990, the national Green Restaurant Association has a mission to create an ecologically sustainable restaurant industry through solutions and education. To earn Green Restaurant Certification, establishments must demonstrate "green" practices and then increase those practices on an annual basis. Seaglass earned recognition as a Two-Star Certified Green Restaurant for implementing and sustaining green practices.

Seaglass and The Pavilion building are also constructed with energy-efficient windows, lighting, insulation and HVAC systems, while its dé©cor captures the essence of nature and the seaside location.
