Partners HealthCare presented its 17th annual Partners in Excellence Awards to employees of Partners-affiliated institutions during award ceremonies held throughout December and early 2013. Award recipients are nominated by their colleagues and are selected on the basis of contributions “above and beyond the call of duty” in the areas of quality treatment and service, leadership and innovation, teamwork, operational efficiency and outstanding community contributions. The recipients are from Groveland — Massachusetts General Hospital: Stacey Houghton; North Shore Medical Center: Karyn Geary and Partners HealthCare: Leonard DeBenedictis; Rowley — Partners HealthCare: Annmarie Baldisserotto and Bea Thibedeau.

Law firm announces new associate

M. Katie Kerr, Esq., of Boston, MA, has joined the law firm of Healy, Deshaies & Gagliardi, PC, in Amesbury. Kerr is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., and obtained her juris doctor at New England School of Law in Boston, MA. She comes to the firm experienced in family law litigation. Her current practice focuses on marital dissolution, pre- and post-marital agreements, paternity, child custody and support, including the removal of children from the state and modifications of alimony. Currently, Kerr is on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers and volunteers her time with the Probate and Family Court Lawyer of the Day Program.

Job Fair April 23

Valley Works Career Center will hold a Job Fair on Tuesday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Blue Ocean Music Hall, 4 Oceanfront North in Salisbury. Job seekers can go to www.valleyworks.cc for an updated employer list. The event is sponsored by the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce, ValleyWorks Career Center, Mass One-Stop Career Center and the Merrimack Vally Workforce Investment Board. Parking for the event is free.
