Rochester Electronics wins Supplier Excellence Award

Rochester Electronics, the world's largest authorized manufacturer and distributor of end-of-life and mature semiconductors, recently received, for the second consecutive year, the Supplier Excellence Award from Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. Rochester received the award at a recognition ceremony held at the Wyndham Hotel in Andover on April 13. Raytheon recognizes its suppliers based on three important factors: on-time delivery measures, sustained performance on quality, and commitment to continuous process and quality improvement.

"To be recognized as a high-quality semiconductor supplier with exceptional customer service by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is an honor for Rochester Electronics," said George Karalias, director of marketing and communications at Rochester Electronics. "Receiving the Supplier Excellence Award is further evidence of customer satisfaction resulting from dedication to delivering authorized, high-performance end-of-life and mature semiconductor products in a timely manner."

Amesbury Business Expo Oct. 6

The Amesbury Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Foundation invites all businesses to participate in the second annual Business Expo on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Amesbury Sports Park, 12 South Hunt Road. The event will showcase Amesbury businesses and all that they have to offer. Participating businesses will be offering samples, promotional items, discounts and free raffles. All attendees will be entered into a free raffle for Amesbury Gift Cards. The expo will be followed by a Business After Hours mixer from 6 to 7 p.m. The cost for participation in the expo is $50 for members and $100 for non-members. Non-members who participate will be offered the opportunity to join the Chamber and receive a $50 discount on the night of the event. Just Ask A Nurse gets dot-com web address

Just Ask A Nurse (JAAN) has recently acquired the address. In a recent move to promote health care consumer awareness and to build name recognition, the address was acquired. They are excited to have the .com address as it is the most recognizable to Internet users. Just Ask A Nurse is a referral website utilizing the unique expertise of local registered nurses to recommend doctors. JAAN was started in 2008 by two local registered nurses, Deb Ciampa and Nancy Justin.

The Provident Bank earns 5-Star rating

Newburyport Bank donates to community

Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank and the bank's Charitable Foundation recently announced they have donated more than $231,000 to many community organizations in the area during the first six months of 2011. More than 126 area nonprofit organizations received support from the bank and its charitable foundation.
