Newburyport Bank donates to community

Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank and the bank's Charitable Foundation recently announced they have donated more than $231,000 to many community organizations in the area during the first six months of 2011. More than 126 area nonprofit organizations received support from the bank and its charitable foundation.

"Community responsibility is something we take to heart. Giving back reinforces the values we live and work by everyday here at the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank," said Janice C. Morse, bank president and CEO. "Helping to shape our neighborhoods through community giving and collaborative efforts helps to keep the Greater Newburyport area healthy and vibrant."

Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank is a growing community bank, with six locations in the region. In 2003, the bank established the nonprofit charitable foundation to further carry out the bank's long history of community involvement and civic leadership. Visit www.newburyportbank.com for more.
