In keeping with the spirit of the Winter Olympics athletes, heart disease survivors, elected officials, community volunteers and professional runners carried a special Healthy Heart Torch more than 35 miles between Newburyport, Newbury, Rowley, Georgetown, West Newbury, Salisbury, Amesbury and back to Newburyport. Overall, 15 runners ran more than 35 miles during a two-week period.

"The Anna Jaques Hospital entry is an example of the best and brightest work produced in our area," said Lee Reynolds Crouch, president of NESH. "The entry was creative, innovative and results-driven and showcased Anna Jaques Hospital extremely well."

The Lamplighters were established in 1974 to showcase and honor excellence in health care communications in the New England region. The 2011 competition included more than 340 entries from more than 85 organizations. Entries were judged by the Minnesota Health Strategy and Communications Network.
