Chamber networking event Oct. 28

There will be a networking event on Friday, Oct. 28, 8 to 9:30 a.m., hosted by Healthcare Complete located at 260 Merrimac St., Towle Building, East Lobby. Network in the offices of Dr. Jennah Dieter and meet and mingle with fellow chamber members. Bring business cards and brochures if appropriate. Admission is free and registration is required.

Chamber holds successful expo

The Amesbury Chamber of Commerce & Industrial Foundation 2nd Annual Business Expo sponsored by Comcast Business Class held recently at the Amesbury Sports Park, brought out many local businesses and residents.

The event was held to showcase Amesbury businesses and all that they have to offer! Participating businesses offered samples, promotional items, discounts and free raffles. All attendees were entered into a free raffle for great door prizes that were generously donated by the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce, Amesbury Sports Park, Flatbread Company, Gould Insurance, Sanborn Electric, RTN Federal Credit Union, Seaport Signworks, and The Provident Bank.

The Expo was followed by a Mixer hosted by Amesbury Sports Park.

ECCF investment returns beat national benchmarks

Essex County Community Foundation earned an impressive 25.83 percent on its investments for the fiscal year ending June 30, exceeding national benchmarks by over 4 percent. ECCF's investments are a broadly diversified, balanced portfolio of stocks managed by local and national professional investment managers. Investment mangers include Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Cambridge Appleton Partners, Goldman Sachs, Ipswich Investment Management and Needham Advisory Corporation. ECCF's investment committee oversees the investment strategy, selection and monitoring of the managers of the portfolio.
