Amesbury agency wins silver medal
McDougall & Duval, an advertising, marketing, social media and public relations firm located in Amesbury, received the silver medal for “Banking — Advertising/Marketing” in Banker & Tradesman’s Best of 2012 Readers’ Poll. The honor marks the third straight year the firm has ranked as one of the region’s top agencies, having won silver in 2011 and gold in 2010. Dan Duval, the firm’s CEO, said, “it’s reassuring to have our special blend of strategic creativity resonate so much with contest voters.”
Gandelman appointed director of community relations
Beth I. Gandelman of Salisbury has been appointed director of community relations for Bentley Commons, an assisted living community in Bedford, N.H. She will be responsible for community outreach, special events and marketing, in addition to providing professional and consumer tours.
Gandelman brings more than 20 years experience in senior care marketing and outreach to Bentley Commons, having worked previously as a director of community relations for an assisted living community, private home care agencies, visiting nurse and hospice organizations as well as a director of community health education. She has also owned a public relations and marketing consulting company, working primarily in the fields of health care and senior living.
Gandelman has a master’s degree in public relations from Boston University and a certificate in marketing management from Northeastern University. She received three Awards of Excellence from the New England Hospital Public Relations and Marketing Association as a former hospital public relations specialist.
Vetere promoted to associate principal
Frank S. Vetere of West Newbury has been promoted to associate principal of environmental and geotechnical consulting firm GZA GeoEnvironmental’s Newburyport office.
Vetere joined GZA in February 2008 after previously working as principal, director of technical services with Gemini Geotechnical Associates, Inc. in North Hampton, N.H. His areas of specialization are environmental and geotechnical engineering, construction oversight, remediation systems and hazardous waste assessments.
Vetere, who was a senior project manager with GZA prior to his promotion, has more than 37 years of experience in all aspects of geotechnical engineering, environmental analyses, hazardous waste remediation and construction monitoring. He has also provided expert witness testimony in support of both geotechnical- and environmental-based claims and legal proceedings.
Vetere holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, N.Y., and a master’s in civil and environmental engineering from Rutgers University. He is a registered licensed site professional in Massachusetts and a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut and New York. His professional memberships include the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Licensed Site Professionals Association.
