Shaheen Bros., Inc. announces recent new hires

Shaheen Bros., Inc. recently welcomed two new employees to their Amesbury office. Mark S. Desiderio will be serving as a buyer in the purchasing department. He brings to this position over 20 years of experience in the culinary arts and restaurant fields as well as five years of service in the U.S. Navy. Desiderio also earned his certificate in culinary arts from the Southeast Institute of Culinary Arts in St. Augustine, Fl. In his new position, he will be responsible for purchasing various lines and assisting with marketing and inventory control. Desiderio is a resident of Fremont, NH.

Craig Grabowski is the newest member of the Shaheen Bros. sales team. He also brings to this position many years of professional experience rising through the ranks of the industry from line cook at La Cirque in New York to hotel manager in Maine to executive chef in an independent restaurant in New Hampshire. Most recently, Grabowski and his wife operated the Lovin Spoonfull Catering and Café© in Deerfield, NH, where they were known for their involvement in the local community. Each Thanksgiving, with the help of local donations, they provided a free dinner for those in need. Grabowski will be serving operators in the Southern New Hampshire area.

Women's luncheon Nov. 29

The Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced that a special women's luncheon will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Ristorante Molise. Members and nonmembers are invited to network and share in the story "Living Our Legacy" of guest speaker Dr. Russette M. Lyons.
