Polcari chosen as president-elect

David G. Polcari, P.E., of Groveland, has been elected president-elect of the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA), the region’s largest and oldest not-for-profit organization of water works professionals.

Polcari is an associate and New England client-service manager for CDM Smith, an international consulting engineering firm based in Cambridge. He is based in the firm’s Manchester, N.H. office.

He received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a master of science degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University.

A member of the New England Water Works Association for 17 years, Polcari previously served as vice president and Massachusetts state director. He also chaired the sponsor services committee and served as a member of the executive, planning, site selection and younger member recognition award committees.

He is a former director of the association’s professional development council and administration council.

A mentor in NEWWA’s mentor/mentee program, Polcari is also actively involved with the young professionals committee.

Polcari is a diplomate in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and a member of the American Water Works Association, Massachusetts Water Works Association, New England Water Environment Association, New Hampshire Water Pollution Control Association, New Hampshire Water Works Association, North American Society for Trenchless Technology, and Water Environment Federation.
