Opportunity Works benefit Thursday at Greetings by Design

Greetings by Design, 4A Winter St., Newburyport, is hosting an evening of socializing, shopping and fun in support of the Newburyport-based nonprofit agency Opportunity Works on Thursday, April 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. Greetings by Design will donate 20 percent of sales to the organization to support its mission to empower and change the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Active wear shop opens in Newburyport

Vizcaya Active, a swim and active wear boutique featuring pieces from Brazil, is opening in downtown Newburyport at One Merrimac St., Unit 5. Owner and operator Tara Faquir says Vizcaya Active offers one-size-only (one size fits most) Brazilian high-performance active wear in colors from traditional black to bold neon brights, as well as a selection of swimsuits and cover-ups offering popular lines such as Vix and Karla Coletto. Felter named treasurer, vice president at Newburyport bank

Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Janice C. Morse announced that community banking veteran Timothy L. Felter was named as the bank's new vice president and treasurer. Prior to joining the bank, Felter served as the CFO/treasurer and senior vice president at the First National Bank of Ipswich. His responsibilities included all aspects of the financial operations including financial and tax reporting, strategic planning, investment portfolio management, shareholder relations, asset/liability management and insurance. His experience includes holding several senior management positions at Riverbank, Shawmut Bank, N.A., and Pioneer Financial, a Cooperative Bank. He received his bachelor's degree in accountancy from Bentley University and is a CPA. Felter and his family reside in Andover. He serves as the council president for the Yankee Clipper Council/Boy Scouts of America in Haverhill.

Collins recognized with Sterling Society Award

Sue Collins of Newbury, a sales associate in the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Newburyport, has been recognized with the Coldwell Banker International Sterling Society Award. This membership is awarded to the top 28 percent of all sales associate teams nationally in the Coldwell Banker system. Collins has more than 16 years of experience selling homes.

Nichols Village Retains McDougall & Duval

McDougall & Duval Advertising an award-winning advertising, marketing and public relations firm located in Amesbury, announced it has been retained by Nichols Village, a state-of-the-art senior living community in Groveland. Under the agreement, the agency will assist Nichols Village in raising awareness of the award-winning community.
