Bratton said the use of a child-proof lock or a secured holster can help prevent accidental discharge of weapons. He said the Corsicana Police Department has gun locks available free of charge to the public.

Bratton said his department’s investigation into the tragedy will be submitted to the Navarro County District Attorney’s office to determine if any charges will be filed, or if a grand jury will hear the case.
