Health Beat: Volunteers sought to help 'Stir the Pot'

Blood drive in Amesbury

Donate blood this Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Sparhawk School in Amesbury.

All donors will have the chance to win two Red Sox tickets and will receive a coupon for $2.50 off a container of Turkey Hill ice cream.

Free yoga classes for adults and kids

A free community weekly yoga class will be held at Waterfront Park, behind the Firehouse, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. every Friday through Aug. 24.

Led by Mike Houlihan of Roots to Wings, the classes will have a healing focus and include postures and breathing for strength, flexibility, balance and concentration. Bring a mat or towel.

Donations will be accepted for the Pettengill House in Salisbury.

Roots to Wings is also offering a free KidsYoga class for ages 5-11 tomorrow at 4 p.m. at 1 Lunt St., Byfield. Reservations are requested.

Classes are also held at Perkins Playground off Water Street on Saturday mornings and on the beach on the Newbury side of Plum Island on Sunday mornings.

Community yoga classes in Amesbury

A pay-by-donation community karma yoga class will be held tonight at the People’s Yoga Co-Op in Amesbury.

Awesome Abs Yoga with Paula Wilson is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at 14 Cedar St.

Pay-by-donation Yoga by the River classes are also planned for every Sunday in July and August from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on the Merrimack River in Amesbury.
