Group helps those facing addiction

The Freedom From Addictions Chalice Circle meets every Friday at 7 p.m. in Newburyport.

The circle is a one-hour, weekly support group meeting for those with addiction and family and friends who are affected. Though it is not a treatment program, it offers resources and information to help develop a recovery process.

Each circle will be led by a facilitator and will include a chalice lighting, readings and discussion. Meetings are free and take place at the First Religious Society, 26 Pleasant St.

Meetings aid Alzheimer’s caregivers

The Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group will meet Wednesday at SeaView Retreat in Rowley.

Those caring for a loved one with diagnosed Alzheimer’s disease or other memory impairment diseases are encouraged to attend. Led by trained facilitators Suzanne Carpentier and Dawn Edwards, meetings offer a safe place for sharing and educational resources.

The group meets twice a month, on the second Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and on the second Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

SeaView is located at 50 Mansion Drive. For more information, call 978-500-2523 or 781-720-9046.
