Art show to benefit ed foundation
Work by nationally recognized artist Karen Blackwood is currently on display and for sale at Oregano Pizzeria & Ristorante in downtown Newburyport.
Thirty percent of all sales this month will benefit the Newburyport Education Foundation, which is raising money this year for lights, sound equipment and curtains for the Molin/Nock auditorium.
Blackwood is an American contemporary artist who specializes in landscapes. She is a founding member of the Adirondack School of Painters and is represented by Susan Powell Fine Art in Madison, Conn. She recently moved to Newburyport with her husband, “Days of our Lives” actor Steve Blackwood, and daughter, Nicole.

Local photographer featured at library
Photographs by Merrimac resident Sam Davis are on display through Tuesday at the Merrimac Public Library.
The show is called “It’s Not Always Black and White.” Davis’ interest in photography began in his teens but didn’t fully blossom until after the birth of his children. He is mostly self-taught, with the aid of some adult education classes, camera club involvement, workshops and seminars.

Artists group puts on ‘A Holiday Show’
The Band of Brushes is presenting “A Holiday Show” through Tuesday at Carry Out Cafe in Newburyport.
Members of the group share a love of nature and plein air painting in oil, watercolor, pastel and acrylic. Participating artists include Dorothy Aham, Fran Butsavich and Mary Ann Varoski of Newbury; Christine Molitor Johnson of Amesbury; and Anika Savage of Newburyport.
The cafe is located at 155 State St.
