Wildlife and nature photographer Peter Christoph will present a free program Saturday at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.
“Snowy Owls and More — The Epic Adventures of a Massachusetts Bird Photographer” will feature a narrated slideshow of Christoph’s favorite bird photographs, all taken in the state. He will also share stories, techniques and some of his favorite places to shoot pictures.
Photographs by Christoph, who lives in Lancaster, have appeared in national magazines and on several covers of New England Printer and Publisher. His program is in association with the Photographic Society of Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, which welcomes anyone with an interest in nature, wildlife and/or photography.
The presentation will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the visitor center, 6 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport. Registration is not required.

Nationally known comedian in Amesbury
A popular comedian with Boston roots will visit The Barn in Amesbury tomorrow night.
Tony V has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including a recurring role on Showtime’s “The Brotherhood.” He has performed on Comedy Central, “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” “Evening at the Improv,” MTV and “Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn.” His one-man show, “The Failure Artist,” drew critical acclaim.
The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and will also feature Mike Prior and Jeanne Sullivan.
Tickets are $15 at the door, and seating is limited.
‘Doughboys’ writer to speak in Seabrook
Best-selling author Richard Rubin will visit the Seabrook Library next week to discuss “The Last of the Doughboys: The Forgotten Generation and Their Forgotten World War.”
The book brings out individual voices and individual experiences during World War I, through interviews that Rubin conducted with many of the last-known survivors.
The free program will be held Thursday, March 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the library, located at 25 Liberty Lane. Light refreshments will be served.
