Lookout: Radio Players return to WWII Wed.


The Greater Newburyport Bura Alliance will hold its monthly potluck supper meeting on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

The group, which began more than 20 years ago, oversees Newburyport’s relationship with its sister city, Bura, Kenya.

This month’s meeting will be held in Topsfield. The public is welcome. For further information and directions, contact Joanna Hammond at 978-388-3230.

Lambert hangs show at Seabrook bank

Local artist James Lambert will hang a show of his work at The Provident Bank’s Lobby for the Arts in Seabrook this month.

A New York City native, Lambert studied at the Museum of Modern Art School, High School of Music and Art and New York Community College. For more than 30 years, he worked as a graphic designer, art director, advertising manager and photographer.

As he entered retirement, Lambert began exploring his own “artistic vision in graphic constructions that merge textures in three dimensions using shadows, contrasting materials and sparse color in a unified composition.”

“Deco Art” will be on display through June. The public can meet with Lambert on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the branch, 1 Provident Way, Seabrook.

Help pick Topsfield Fair theme

Organizers of the Topsfield Fair are seeking the public’s help in picking this year’s theme.

Through April 10, individuals can offer their idea in an online contest via the fair’s Facebook page. The winner will receive a prize package and four free tickets. The fair will run from Oct. 4 through Oct. 14.

Wine tasting at Georgetown Library

The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library are hosting a wine tasting on Saturday, April 27.

The benefit at the library from 6:30 to 9 p.m. will feature 40 different wine varieties as attendees listen to jazz drummer Keith Augeri and his band. The final half hour of the evening will include coffee and dessert.
