Ham and bean supper Saturday

The Bethany Masonic Lodge will host their next ham and bean supper on Saturday from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The menu includes ham, two kinds of beans, hotdogs, brown bread, garden salad, potato and egg salad, Cole slaw assorted desserts. Admission is $8. It is free for children to attend.

Bellydancing showcase on Saturday

Stop into Belleville Congregational Church on Saturday for a bellydance showcase. The program, which features the tribal fusion bellydance performer Belladonna, and several others, runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the church, 300 High St. Several vendors will be on hand to sell their wares, such as jewelry, soaps, clothing and tribal textiles.

BSO soloist plays with Merrimack Valley orchestra

The Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra will welcome Boston Symphony Orchestra horn player and soloist Robert Sheena during their concert on Sunday.

Sheena, a critically acclaimed musician for the BSO and Boston Pops, will join the orchestra for Telemann’s “Concerto for Oboe d’amore in G.”

Sheena is a faculty member at Boston University, the Boston Conservatory, and the Longy School of Music, where he teaches oboe and English horn. He has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the San Antonio Symphony.
