Lookout: New England String Quartet plays Sunday

The acting club, which consists of kids who attend the after-school program at 18 Maple St., Salisbury, will stage the production tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger.

More than 45 club members are involved in the show and have been working on the production for several months. The play is being directed by Rowan Andriotakis a staff member at the club and the theater director. The kids have been working hard designing the sets and rehearsing their roles. Materials for the sets and the costumes have been donated.

Custom House museum hosts

Greely presentation

After being postponed due to last week’s snowstorm, the Custom House Maritime Museum will host a presentation on Adolphus Washington Greely tomorrow night.

The lecture by Dr. Miller Graf will begin at 6 p.m. and looks at the historic Lady Franklin Bay scientific expedition led by Newburyport’s own Greely in 1881. Graf has 20 years of active service as an Air Force officer. He was the founder of the management division at Bradford College and served as a professor of economics and finance there for 20 years.

Admission is $5. A reception will follow.

Valentine’s Day wine, chocolate pairing

Jewell Towne Vineyards in South Hampton is hosting a wine and chocolate tasting on Saturday in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Sweethearts can head to the winery from noon to 4 p.m. for the complimentary pairing featuring Lindt chocolate.

Jewell Towne is located at 183 Whitehall Road, South Hampton. This event was scheduled for last Saturday but was postponed to this weekend due to the blizzard.

Mardi Gras at coffeehouse

You don’t have to be in New Orleans this week to get a flavor of Mardi Gras. The Cat in the Cradle Coffeehouse will celebrate the holiday on Saturday.
