Donations are now being accepted. Each donation puts a light on the tree and adds a name to the Tree of Light Scroll that is displayed in the hospital lobby, on its website, and is printed in the association’s winter newsletter. Community members can add a name in memory of a loved one or in someone’s honor.
For each name, there is a minimum donation of $5. Checks may be made payable to the AJH Aid Association and mailed c/o Volunteer Office, 25 Highland Ave., Newburyport, MA 01950, or dropped off at that address.
Donations must be received by Friday.
Thanksgiving eve bash at Blue Ocean
Blue Ocean Music Hall is celebrating Thanksgiving a day early next week. The music hall on Salisbury Beach is hosting an evening of country music with “The Big Thanksgiving Eve Bash” with Jodie Cunningham and Fried Cactus on Wednesday, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $7. Historical Society accepting consignments
The Historical Society of Old Newbury is accepting consignments for January’s ’Bury Treasures Auction now through Nov. 30.
The society is seeking a range of items, such as paintings, prints, vintage items, jewelry, toys, mirrors, furniture, china, candlesticks, marine-related items, silver, tools, ceramics, pottery and Newburyport-area related items. Call the Historical Society at 978-462-2681 to schedule a consultation with curator Jay Williamson.
The auction is set for Saturday, Jan. 19.
Coat drive for Pettengill House
The Newburyport stationery store Greetings by Design is running a coat drive for the Pettengill House in Salisbury this month.
The public can bring gently worn coats to the shop, 4A Winter St., Newburyport, through November. Donors will receive a 20 percent discount, including on orders for holiday cards and invitations.
