Grammy winners at Casino Ballroom

Weezer, Etheridge among new shows taking place this spring and summer

---- — The Casino Ballroom at Hampton Beach has announced several new performances for its spring and summer schedule. The lineup includes a show by multi-platinum Grammy award winner Weezer who will come to the venue on July 8, as well as appearances by country star Sara Evans in April, rock singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge in June and The Beach Boys in August.

Dark Star Orchestra performs Grateful Dead classics in the same way that an orchestra interprets music of classical composers. The composer spirit is derived and channeled as the players capture the excitement and innovation of the original performances and compositions.

For several years, Etheridge’s popularity was built around such memorable songs as “Bring Me Some Water,” “No Souvenirs” and “Ain’t It Heavy,” for which she won her first Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal.

Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, “Yes I Am,” featuring the massive hits “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window,” a song that brought her second Best Female Rock Grammy. The album went six times platinum and spent more than two and a half years on the album chart.
