The Lookout: Short plays spotlighted in Got Group?


For both middle and high school students, two summer mini camps will be offered. “Introduction to Digital Drawing” on July 8, 10 and 12 will teach basic Photoshop functions through creative projects. “Creative Photoshop Camp” on July 22, 24 and 25 will focus on how to take and enhance photos to print, share with friends and upload. Each camp costs $60 for members and $80 for nonmembers.

Artwork on display at the Merrimac Library

An exhibit of oil paintings by Brent Rotsko is currently being featured at the Merrimac Public Library.

A public reception will be held Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the library, 86 W. Main St. Visitors can also enter a free raffle to win one of Rotsko’s New England-inspired paintings.

Historic Amesbury home open for tours

The Mary Baker Eddy Historic House in Amesbury is open for tours through the end of October.

Eddy, the founder of Christian science, was the first American woman to found a worldwide religion. The Amesbury home of Sarah Bagley is where she did some of her earliest writing on the religion. The house’s furnishings have remained substantially unchanged since the mid-1800s.

The home will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 29, Aug. 31, and Sept. 21 and 22. It is also open by appointment. Admission is a suggestion donation of $5.

Georgetown fair seeking crafters

The First Congregational Church in Georgetown is looking for craft vendors for its annual fall fair, which has been rescheduled to Oct. 25 and 26.

Ipswich artist’s work on display at Joppa Flats

Pastel paintings of coastal landscapes are on display through July 28 at the Joppa Flats Education Center.
