Surfing for support

Fundraiser to boost 'Save the Stage' efforts in Amesbury

(Continued)

The owner of NorthEast Board Culture surf shop in Salisbury, Hall fronts a four-piece jam band that features him on guitar and vocals, Matt Hendrick on lead guitar and vocals, Mike Miksis on bass and vocals, and drummer Adam Sideri.

“The whole atmosphere is relaxed,” Hall said of the cinema pub. “You can go out to eat and watch a movie. Instead of being in your regular cinema, you can relax, kick back in the chairs, and it’s unique. We need to have unique venues like that.

“It’s a place where artists can have movie premieres and stuff like that,” he said. “There are a bunch of filmmakers out of New Hampshire and Newburyport right now. These guys are all starting to film, and this would be a great place to premiere their movies.”

The Save the Stage campaign ends on the Fourth of July.
