Fitness programs help both runners and beginners
Both a 12-week training camp for the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women and the Green Stride Newburyport Half Marathon and an eight-week boot camp will be offered in Newburyport this summer.
The boot camp, which starts June 25, will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 a.m. at Cashman Park. It includes strength and cardio conditioning for adults of all fitness levels.
The training camp features strength training, stretches and progressive long runs, as well as nutritional, orthopedic and other fitness-related lectures. Beginning July 27, it will be held every Saturday at 8 a.m. at Natural High Fitness Club at the Tannery.

Spin on waterfront for a good cause
Take a spinning class and help out the Jimmy Fund at the Waterfront Spin-a-thon in Newburyport on Saturday, June 1.
Hosted by Team Paul & Eve, the event will feature six classes, 25 bikes and a live disc jockey from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Pan-Mass Challenge team is named for two survivors of pediatric cancer and has raised more than $120,000 for research since 2007.

Fun Run to help marathon victims
A 2.62-mile Charity Fun Run has been planned in Newburyport to support victims of the Boston Marathon.
Starting at Cashman Park on Sally Snyder Way on Sunday, June 2, at 10 a.m., the run will benefit The One Fund Boston.
The event, planned by a group of local mothers in partnership with The Winner’s Circle Running Club, will feature food, music, entertainment and raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
