Joppa Flatts to play at Seaglass

Local cover band Joppa Flatts will perform at Seaglass Restaurant & Lounge on Saturday from 8 to 11:30 p.m.

The group plays a wide variety of blues, rock and pop favorites.

Church presents tribute to a jazz icon

Wednesday night’s Jazz Vespers Service at the First Religious Society will feature a tribute to Dave Brubeck.

A special guest saxophonist will join the house band of Lark Madden, Tomas Havrda, Susan Creamer and Andy Brewster during the 8 p.m. concert at 26 Pleasant St., Newburyport.

Speaker Robin Lawson will also pay homage to Brubeck in readings.

Two concerts this weekend at Salisbury Beach

The Mohegan Sun All-Stars and Edwin McCain with Seth Glier are slated to perform in weekend shows at Blue Ocean Music Hall.

Tomorrow, David Foster and the Mohegan Sun All-Stars (formerly the Shaboo All-Stars), will play classic rhythm and blues. Tickets are $20 and $25.

McCain, known for his romantic hit ballads “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More,” will take the stage Sunday night. Tickets are $25 and $29.

Both shows start at 8 p.m.

Upcoming concerts at Blue Ocean, located at 4 Oceanfront North on Salisbury Beach, include Ryan Cabrera and Jason Castro on Friday, June 7.
