---- — The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society, has initiated Kathryn Callahan to the Plymouth State University chapter and Bennett Ward into University of Massachusetts Amherst chapter.

Liam Gallagher, a graduating senior at Amesbury High School, has been named one of 565 semifinalists in the 2014 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from more than 4,000 candidates on the basis of superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character, and involvement in the community and school activities.

Final selections of the scholars will be made by the commission on Presidential Scholars, a group of eminent citizens appointed by the president and will be announced in May. The commission will select one young man and one young woman from each state, The District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S. students living abroad; up to 20 students representing the visual, literary and performing arts; and 15 students at-large.

Scholars will be invited to Washington D.C., in June to receive the U.S. Presidential Scholars medallion at a recognition ceremony and to participate in various activities and events held in their honor.

Hannah Fitch was inducted into the Lambda Epsilon Sigma Honor Society at the Scholars Celebration at Stonehill College on April 2.

Meaghan Robichaud has made honor roll for the second trimester at the Dana Hall School, where she is in the ninth grade. She is the daughter of Kazia and Richard Robichaud.

Meaghan recently returned from Spain with the Dana Hall Chamber singers, where she performed in concert at Auditorio de Francisco in Salamania Spain and at Santa Maria de Pilar School. She is a member of the Dana Hall Varsity Fencing team, which won a state championship.

Alejandro M. Grullon, Brittany E. McCarthy and Katrina M. Rioux were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Bridgewater State University.

Casey R. Everett was awarded a master of arts in art education from Boston University in January.

John B. Morris was awarded a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, magna cum laude from Boston University in January.

Rebecca A. Behrends, Zachary S. Cracknell and Arman K. Sanentz have been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the fall semester.

Christopher Moren and Rose Sheehan were named to the Honor Roll at Pingree School for the first semester.

Berklee College of Music announces that Seth Campbell has earned placement on the dean’s list for the fall semester.
