Kamber also has a part in “Thanksgiving Fugue,” about the different family dynamics at play during the big holiday dinner.
Stepping onstage for just the second time is Lois Honegger, the executive aide to Newburyport Mayor Donna Holaday. In “Fast Birth Fugue,” she plays a mother going into premature labor, “contractions and all.”
“I know what’s going on with my body, but nobody wants to pay attention to me,” said Honegger, who has produced several shows at the Firehouse and is a former member of the board of directors.
She also plays a mother, this time of a high school graduate, in “Graduation Day Fugue.”
“My son, Eric, is supposed to give the valedictory speech, and he’s not writing it,” she said.
Honegger said the cast has been having a lot of fun in rehearsals over the past couple of weeks.
“It’s a wonderful little camaraderie with all of us,” she said. “I really enjoy making a complete fool of myself.”
Also in the cast are Jean Berger, Suzanne Bryan, Laurie Contrino, Glenda Donovan, Fontaine Dubus, Sarah Gibby, Janice Gregory, Bonnie Lake, Gloria Papert, Esther Sayer, Anne Easter Smith, Sue Thomas, Lisa Wetenkamp and Sherri Ziomek.
