Amesbury Invitation Nights, 5 to 7 p.m., Amesbury stores will stay open for added holiday shopping.

Dec. 7 and Dec. 14

Newburyport Invitation Nights, 6 to 9 p.m., enjoy merchant hospitality, live entertainment, shopping, dining and the spirit of the holidays in downtown Newburyport and The Tannery.

Dec. 8

Holiday House Tour, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Spend the day touring several homes across the city, dressed up in holiday splendor. The tour benefits the Custom House Maritime Museum. Tickets are $23 in advance and $28 on the day of the tour. Tickets available at the Custom House Museum, 25 Water St., Newburyport.

Whisker Wonderland, Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society, 63 Elm St., Salisbury, noon to 5 p.m.

Enjoy refreshments while you shop for your cat or dog. Holiday wreaths and plants will be for sale as well. All proceeds benefit the society. Donations are also welcome from the MRFRS’s wish list, which can be found at www.mrfrs.org.

“Holiday on Main Street” presented by the Alliance for Georgetown; throughout Georgetown. Refreshments and cheer will be served at many locations. Get acquainted with unique local businesses.

Dec. 8 and Dec. 9

Newburyport Choral Society Winter Concert, Belleville Congregational Church in Newburyport; Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The concert will feature Jonathan Willcock’s dramatic “Magnificat,” an intensely beautiful set of Russian songs by Rachmaninoff, the rollicking “Rhythm of Life” from Sweet Charity and uplifting holiday music accompanied by a professional orchestra. Dec. 13

Holiday Happenings Craft Fair, Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Higgins Conference Room. Twelve crafters — AJH employees or volunteers — will sell fine arts and crafts, jewelry, knitted items, handmade table runners and place mats, tole paintings and seasonal items. Each artisan will also be donating an item for the raffle table, to be set up outside the room. Cupcake Challenge will be set up in the atrium. The mission of the Aid is to support patient services at the hospital by helping to purchase special medical equipment.

Dec. 14 and Dec. 15

Artisans in the Open Christmas Show and Sale, Dec. 7, 2 to 9 p.m. and Dec. 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Dec. 14, 2 to 9 p.m. and Dec. 15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

First Religious Society, annex building, 26 Pleasant St., Newburyport.

More than 25 area artisans will offer a selection of wares, including photography, jewelry, pottery, hand-painted scarves, hand-painted furniture, blown glass, stained glass, painting, hand-spun wool mittens, scarves and hats, handbags and more.

Solstice Song, a holiday concert featuring Allyn Gamble, Steve Faria & Friends, The Actors Studio, The Tannery, 50 Water St., Newburyport. A night of musical celebration, including jazz favorites and much loved seasonal tunes. $35, includes a post-performance reception with the artists. Amesbury Chamber of Commerce food drive for Our Neighbors’ Table, Carriagetown Plaza, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dec. 16

New England Tenors Holiday Concert, 2 to 4 p.m., Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green St., Newburyport. Tickets are $20 for adults; $12 for children age 12 and younger.
