Overeaters Anonymous groups meet locally

Overeaters Anonymous now meets weekly at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newburyport. The meetings run from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. The church is located at 166 High St., Newburyport.

Overeaters Anonymous also holds weekly sessions in Amesbury. On Tuesdays, from 3:45 to 4:50 p.m., meetings are held in the Carriage Room of the Amesbury Health Center on Highland Street. It is the first door on left after entering.

A 12-step program of recovery, OA is meant to assist people with food disorders and food addictions. It addresses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. To learn more about OA, visit www.oaambi.org.

Meditation sessions in Port

Buddhist and Unitarian Universalist educator Mary Kay Dyer is leading meditation sessions and discussions at First Religious Society, 26 Pleasant St., Newburyport.

The program, “Making Your Life More Meditative,” will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 4 and Oct. 11. It is free to attend. No previous meditation experience is necessary.
