Community yoga classes in Amesbury

The following community karma yoga classes will be offered at the People’s Yoga Co-Op in Amesbury on a pay-by-donation basis. All classes are drop-in and held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at 14 Cedar St.

Tonight, Ashtanga Yoga with Ariana Doccola, and July 19, Heart Opening Yoga with Paula Wilson.

Pay-by-donation Yoga by the River classes are also planned for every Sunday in July and August from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on the Merrimack River in Amesbury.

Artists featured at Anna Jaques

A multimedium exhibit will be showcased at Anna Jaques Hospital through July 25.

Morton Gilbert and his daughter Sandy are displaying their photography, Margaret Del Tufo will show off works that use colored pencils and acrylic paints, and David McPhee is exhibiting local watercolor scenes.

A portion of sales will be donated to the Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association to support the health needs of the community.

Free yoga classes on the waterfront

A free community weekly yoga class will be held at Waterfront Park, behind the Firehouse, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. every Friday through Aug. 24.

Led by Mike Houlihan of Roots to Wings, the classes will have a healing focus and include postures and breathing for strength, flexibility, balance and concentration. Bring a mat or towel.

Donations will be accepted for the Pettengill House in Salisbury.

Classes are also held at Perkins Playground off Water Street on Saturday mornings and on the beach on the Newbury side of Plum Island on Sunday mornings.
