Workshops for the birds

Children ages 6 and up can build their own bird attractors at two events offered by Joann Healey of Wild About Nature & Science Too.

On Saturday, it’s all about the house wren, as kids will create birdhouses to attract the returning bird. Next Saturday, May 18, they will make easy-to-build feeders.

Both workshops, offered through Newburyport Youth Services, will be held rain or shine from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Moseley Woods Pavilion, Spofford Street, Newburyport. Each costs $15, plus a $5 materials fee.

Advance registration is required. To sign up for a workshop, call 978-464-4434, email youthservices@cityofnewburyport.com or visit www.newburyportyouthservices.com.
