Author series concludes tonight

Amesbury writer and artist Muriel Angelil will wrap up the Emma L. Andrews Library’s Autumn Author Series with a presentation tonight at 7:30.

Angelil’s new memoir is called “Back to the Past: A Daughter of the Nile.” She grew up in a Melkite Catholic family living in the Islamic city of Alexandria. Her memories include the period around World War II and show the changes wrought in the society by changes in Egypt’s government.

Angelil will read from her book and share her art. The program is free, and the library is located at 77 Purchase St.

Monotype printing session, exhibit

Artists Alan Bull and Gordon Przybyla will host a “Pop-up Printathon” on Saturday at Indigo Artist Studio in Newburyport.

The longtime friends and colleagues will create monotypes on-site throughout the day, and the public is invited to view the printmaking process from 2 to 4 p.m. The monotypes will then be on display at a reception from 6 to 8 p.m.

Gallery owner and artist Mary Arthur Pollak will also exhibit her own monotypes, and all three artists will be on hand to explain the process.
