The Lookout: Saltbox Gallery artists bring work to Plum Island

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring picnic dinners. Desserts and beverages will be available to purchase during intermission.

Tickets for Saturday concerts are $25 for patio seating, which includes tables and chairs, and $20 for lawn seating (bring your own chairs and blankets). Sunday concerts cost $12 general admission. Children 12 and under are admitted free to all shows.

Maudslay Arts Center is located at 95 Curzon Mill Road, Newburyport. In the case of rain, concerts will move inside to the MAC Concert Barn.

Children’s book author at Lively Kids

Lively Kids will host two book signings and readings on Saturday for “The Night Before my Birthday Book.”

Author Joni Rubenstein will appear from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their children.

The book aims to capture kids’ feelings of anticipation at bedtime on the eve of the day they turn a year older. For more information, visit www.nightbeforemybirthday.com.

Artists group is ‘Making an Impression’

The Newburyport Art Association Printmakers Group is holding its 10th annual exhibit through July 22.

“Making an Impression” will showcase a variety of printmaking styles and techniques, including monotype and monoprint, linoleum block prints, etching, collagraph, mezzotint and mixed media.

Participating artists are Muriel Angelil, Patty deGrandpre, Susan Dosick, Diane Francis, Kate Higley, Susan Jaworski-Stranc, Barbara Nachmias-Kedesdy, Mary Arthur Pollak, Niki Orphanos, Jim Tinguely and Mary Carolyn Webber.

An opening reception is set for this Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The art association is located at 65 Water St. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
