New Tupelo playing to all crowds at Salisbury Beach

The country sound of "American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice. Grammy Award winner Paula Cole. American folk legend Judy Collins and contemporary folk artist Shawn Colvin. And toss in Gallagher for some laughs.

The new Tupelo Music Hall Salisbury is set to open its doors in November with an eclectic lineup of shows at the Pavilion at Salisbury Beach.

The 560-seat, year-round venue at 4 Ocean Front North builds on the success of the original Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, N.H., which has developed a reputation for presenting nationally recognized performers in an intimate setting over the last five years.

Like the New Hampshire venue, Tupelo Music Hall Salisbury will showcase bands and solo acts from today, as well as artists and musicians from the past who maintain a dedicated fan base. Shows will aim to appeal to audiences in their 30s through 60s, and cover a range of genres, from rock and R&B to jazz and country, plus comedy and children's entertainment.

More than double the size of the Londonderry location, the Tupelo Salisbury is expected to host 100 shows a year, from cabaret-style performances to traditional theater concerts to larger general admission shows. A full bar and limited food menu will be available.

The Little River Band with guest Charlie Farren christens Tupelo Salisbury on Saturday, Nov. 7. They'll be followed in November by Paula Cole, Friday, Nov. 13; The Machine, Pink Floyd tribute, Saturday, Nov. 14; Shawn Colvin, Friday, Nov. 20; Tupelo Night of Comedy, Saturday, Nov. 21; and Gallagher, Friday, Nov. 27.

Events are booked into March, with more expected to follow. For a complete schedule and more information, visit www.TupeloHallSalisbury.com.
