Annual Books in Bloom fundraiser benefits library, Horticultural Society

Proceeds from the event will benefit both nonprofit organizations. The Friends group raises money for library programs, materials and capital improvements that are not part of the city budget. The Horticultural Society installs and maintains plantings around Newburyport, including gardens at the rail trail and the Kelley School Youth Center.

“It’s one of the times that the library group gets to collaborate with another nonprofit organization, and it’s always a wonderful thing when that can happen,” Dadd said.

This year’s fundraiser is sponsored by the Institution for Savings, with support from major donor Re/Max on the River.
