Live shows at Custom House
Tomorrow’s Invitation Night in Newburyport will feature dramatic presentations at the Custom House Maritime Museum.
“Voices of Christmas Past,” taken from actual ship logs, is a heartfelt tableau of Christmas Day life and emotions aboard Newburyport ships at sea. The 10-minute show will be presented at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Admission is free. The museum is located at 25 Water St.
Invitation Night runs from 6 to 9 p.m. throughout downtown Newburyport and The Tannery Marketplace and includes live entertainment and a number of shops offering holiday drinks and treats.
Auction underway at art association
The Newburyport Art Association is hosting a special Holiday Live Auction of a large pastel work donated by member Karen Jones.
Bidding started Tuesday and continues through Monday, Dec. 23. The 28-inch-by-36-inch painting has a fair market value of $1,800.
All proceeds will be used to purchase new easels for classes and workshops at the NAA.

Music from the past in Salisbury
Spend “An Afternoon at the Stage Door Canteen” during the annual holiday gathering at Assisted Living Center — Salisbury.
The Majestic Theatre of Manchester, N.H., will present its “G.I. Holiday Jukebox,” featuring a quartet performing harmonies from the big band and swing era.
