Pay-by-donation yoga in Amesbury

People’s Yoga Co-Op in Amesbury will offer a Community Karma Yoga Class tonight at its new location on the second floor of 36 Main St.

Jennifer Freeman will lead a session called “Slow it Down” from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Participants of all yoga levels, ages 10 and older, are welcome to drop in and pay by donation.

Group helps those facing addiction

The first meeting of the Freedom From Addictions Chalice Circle will be held tonight at 7 in Newburyport.

The circle is a one-hour, weekly support group meeting for those with addiction and family and friends who are affected. Though it is not a treatment program, it will offer resources and information to help develop a recovery process.

The circle will be led by a facilitator and will include a chalice lighting, readings and discussion. Meetings are free and will take place every Friday at the First Religious Society, 26 Pleasant St.

Emotions Anonymous meetings held weekly

Emotions Anonymous holds a free meeting every Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at People’s United Methodist Church, 64 Purchase St., Newburyport.

The 12-step organization is composed of people who come together to work toward recovery from emotional difficulties, including depression, anxiety, grief, anger and relationship problems.

Library offers free exercise classes

Free weekly tai chi is held every Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Newburyport Public Library.

No experience is necessary to join the classes, which are led by Kathleen Kondylas. Participants should wear comfortable clothing.
