Horsing around in Amesbury
The Carriage Town Horse Show on Saturday will offer breed classes, equitation and pleasure riding classes for all disciplines and ages in two outdoor rings, rain or shine.
Exhibitors and spectators are welcome from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, and breakfast and lunch will be available to purchase.

Closing gallery offers discounts
The Bridge Gallery, which is shutting its doors after seven years, is selling artwork at a 20 percent discount this month.
There are also two “Make an Offer” reception events scheduled for this Saturday and next Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.
The gallery, which will close after Memorial Day weekend, is located at 1R Water St., Newburyport. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
Grow a garden that can heal
A class on “Planting a Healing Garden” will be held Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 46 E. Main St., Merrimac.
Robert Horsman will talk about various plants with healing properties, including their growth habits, sun and shade requirements, and other guidelines.
The class will be followed by a trip to the Herb Farmacy in Salisbury, where participants can purchase featured plants.

Art featured at Newburyport cafe
Opportunity Works’ art program, OpArt, has an exhibit currently on display at the Carry Out Cafe.
An opening reception will be held Friday, May 31, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the cafe, 155 State St., Newburyport. The show runs through June 30.
