Asperger's support group meets Monday

There will be a meeting of the Asperger’s Syndrome Support Group on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Higgins conference room of Anna Jaques Hospital, 25 Highland Ave., Newburyport. A general discussion, including recent successes and challenges, is planned.

This support group addresses the concerns of parents of school-aged children diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, high-functioning, or related challenges.

The meetings are free, open to the public and serve families from all neighboring communities. The group is sponsored by the Asperger’s Association of New England and meets on the second Monday of every month.

Yoga workshop

in Amesbury

People’s Yoga Co-op in Amesbury is hosting a Heart Opening Yoga workshop on Sunday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Freeman will focus on poses that open the heart and help to increase the ability to give and receive love. All participants will receive a special chocolate treat. There is a $20 fee.

Healing yoga for breast cancer survivors

Roots to Wings Yoga Studio will hold a healing yoga session each month for breast cancer survivors. The class will meet on the second Sunday of every month from 2 to 4 p.m. at Roots to Wings Healing and Yoga Studio in Byfield. The class will be led by two instructors who are also breast cancer survivors. They will use gentle stretches and restorative poses.

Blood drive

in Port Feb. 15

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at Newburyport City Hall, 60 Pleasant St., on Friday, Feb. 15, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Donors will receive a coupon for a free lunch pack at Cumberland Farms. To make an appointment to donate blood, call 1-800-RED CROSS (733-2767) or log onto redcrossblood.org.
