Entertainment and food at 17 State St.

This weekend’s “Beats, Burgers and Brews” at the 17 State Street Cafe will feature the Chuck Walker Quartet tomorrow and Ian Fitzgerald on Saturday.

Exploring everything from swing to blues to funk and jazz, the Chuck Walker Quartet is dedicated not only to preserving classic jazz traditions but also to pushing the borders of this creative music.

From early 20th-century field recordings through Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Gillian Welch and hundreds of artists in between, folk singer Fitzgerald has been influenced by one of the sturdiest strains of American music.

Both shows are from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Newburyport restaurant.

Jazz on tap at Ten Center

Wednesday’s “Jazz at Ten Center” presents Tony Bennett’s bassist, Marshall Wood; Joe Barbato on piano; and Phil McGowan on drums.

The show takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. at the restaurant, 10 Center St., Newburyport. For more information, visit www.tencenterstreet.com.
