Community yoga classes in Amesbury
The following community karma yoga classes will be offered at the People’s Yoga Co-Op in Amesbury on a pay-by-donation basis. All classes are drop-in and held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at 36 Main St., the studio’s new home.
Tonight, Yoga Basics with Jennifer Freeman; Oct. 18, Hip Opening Yoga with Paula Wilson; and Oct. 25, Ballroom Dancing with Ivana Ruzkova.
The studio is in the process of renovating new space at the front of the second floor of 36 Main St. and plans to move there permanently next month. Classes are currently being held in the back of the second floor, next to Workspace 36.

Be part of a ‘thrilling’ experience for charity
A local dance instructor is getting involved in a worldwide effort to break the record for the largest simultaneous dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
Through Oct. 20, free clinics will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. every Sunday at the Agnes Strecker Dance Studio at 908 Salem St., Groveland. Everyone ages 8 and up is welcome to come and learn the “Thriller” dance.
Then, on Oct. 26, anyone who wishes to participate is invited to the Harry Della Russo Stadium in Revere, where check-in starts at 4 p.m. and the dance will be performed at 5 p.m. Dressing like a zombie is encouraged.
Donations collected on the day of the event will benefit Children’s Hospital Boston and Alzheimer’s disease research.
