Amesbury postpones fireworks

Amesbury has postponed its July 4 fireworks to tomorrow at dusk.

The event will be held at Woodsom Farm on Lions Mouth Road. Festivities start with the band Audio Rush from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by the Merrimack Valley Concert Band from 8 to 9:15 p.m. Fireworks start after the concert.

Concerns about possible thunderstorms and the dampness of the grass persuaded Mayor Thatcher Kezer to postpone the event to tomorrow.
