Mass Save offers energy-efficient ideas tonight

WEST NEWBURY — The Energy Advisory Committee is inviting West Newbury homeowners to learn more about free and discounted energy-efficiency services funded by the gas and electric utilities.

A representative from Mass Save will be on hand for the meeting today, 7 p.m., in the First Floor Hearing Room of the 1910 Town Office Building.

Mass Save offers no-cost home energy assessments that include a customized energy savings plan for homes and immediate installation of no-cost measures such as compact fluorescent light bulbs, programmable thermostats and targeted air sealing.

In addition, Mass Save provides other incentives and rebates to homeowners of up to $2,000 toward the installation of approved insulation improvements, generous rebates on energy-efficient heating and hot water heating, and the 0 percent financing available through the HEAT loan program for the installation of high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, Energy Star replacement windows and other qualified improvements.
