Singer, Barlow lead offense in Port win over Lynnfield

Newburyport 8, Lynnfield 2

Newburyport (6-4) got back on track swinging the bats and plating runners in a rout of Lynnfield. Lauren Singer had doubles and two RBIs, and Casey Barlow had a single, a triple and two RBIs to lead the Clippers to the win. Newburyport coach Lori Solazzo said, “It was nice to see them hitting the ball again, and the defense was pretty good, too.”

Triton 8, Ipswich 0

Triton improved 6-4 on the season aided by a great effort on the mound from Mara Spears (7 IP, 6h, 3K, 1BB), and solid hitting from Cara Orlandi (2-for-3 with two runs scored, a single and a double), and Rylee Culverwell (2-for-4).

Boys Lacrosse

Pentucket 10, Manchester-Essex 0

Sam Colombo had four goals and one assist,Nick Arcadipane had one goal one assist, Connor Beaton had one goal and one assist, Calvin Wiles had one goal and two assists, Cody Rothwell had one goal, Brendan Sullivan one goal, and Shane Ketola one goal for the Sachems (7-3) in the win

Hamilton Wenham 13, Newburyport 12

Pentucket 3, Newburyport 2

Second doubles Will Kopaciewicz and Deven McKee (6-3, 6-2) then third singles Nolan Bridgewater (6-0, 6-1) put the Sachems up 2-0 early in the match only to see it tied 2-2. Then in the deciding match second singles Chris Gilman (7-6, 6-4) picked up his first win of the year to give Pentucket (3-5) the win.

Girls Lacrosse

Newburyport 15, Hamilton Wenham 9

Ali Peffer was in beast mode Friday afternoon scoring seven goals, assisting on four more and winning four draw controls playing a pivotal role in the Clippers’ (6-4) win over the Generals. For Newburyport Kelly Conway had three goals, Julia Kipp had a goal, Morgan Timmerman had a goal, Livie Couturier had a goal, Olivia Kearney had a goal, and Carly Kouvaris had 15 stops in net.

Ipswich 20, Georgetown 9

Grace Ann Conte had two, Kathryn Gibb had two goals and an assist, Chelsea Burke had a goal and an assist, Madeline Cannon had two goals and an assist, Marisa Agganis had two goals, and Bridget Edwards stopped eights shots in the loss for Georgetown (5-6)
