This day in history

On this day in 1848, Richard S. Spofford, John Atkinson and A.W. Wildes, their associates and successors, were incorporated by the name of the Newburyport Health Insurance Company, for the purpose of insuring doctors, lawyers, tradesmen and mechanics against loss of time or wages by accident or illness.
