Newbury COA notes

Flu clinic Tuesday: The public health nurse will hold a flu clinic at the Newbury Council on Aging office on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. The clinic is for Newbury residents only, as there is limited amount of the vaccine available. Residents over 60 years will be vaccinated first. Bring Medicare card and wear short sleeves. Residents are also encouraged to get a flu shot from their doctor or go to a local pharmacy that is offering vaccinations.

Medicare benefits meeting Nov. 15: The COA hosts an information session about Medicare benefits for 2013, plan changes for supplemental Medigaps, Medicare Advantage and Part D Prescription plans. The session takes place on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. Changes to the plans may be made only until Dec. 7. In addition, Mark Sullivan, SHINE counselor for the Senior Center, is available by appointment each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Call the office at 978-462-8114 to reserve a time for an appointment.
